Kate Liebers, staff writer of the Delaware Gazette interviewed Sherry Mann, founder of The Liberty Voice for over an hour concerning the comeback of the LV print edition. The article touched on the inspiration for the paper, the decline of other newspapers, and advocacy journalism compared to more traditional objective journalism.
The timing couldn’t have been better. The spring edition of The Liberty Voice is to hit the stands later in the day, March 13, 2012. It features a new masthead, format and support from local businesses and the Libertarian party of Ohio.
Sherry Mann has halted subscriptions from all mainstream media sources for 6 years, but the fairness of the article prompted her to purchase a six-month subscription to her local paper.
Ironically, the article mentioned that Mann felt that objectivity in journalism was “impossible to achieve.” And then Liebers proceeded to show that sometimes the impossible can be achieved.
